QR Codes That Don’t Suck

QR codes have been having a bit of a moment (resurgence?) lately and with a healthy dose of AI they just might be ready for their moment in the sun.

Using Stable Diffusion (+ControlNet) it is possible to adapt a QR code into an image, and they still work!

Do you think we will start seeing an influx of these in the near future?

Print Ads in 3D

Keeping with the “old is new” theme of today’s email, check out this print ad. Love to see someone reimagining a format and hacking attention as a result.

Creative Director Felipe Salazar and graphic designer Karen Castañeda came up with this clever optical illusion for their clients. The ad uses disproportionate and perspective shifted text to create the indent of a 3D room in the middle of the classified section.

Resource of the Week

Viewing colors in context is important, and being able to do so with a single click is even better.

Happy Hues is a color palette inspiration site that acts as a real world example as to how the colors could be used in your design projects.

In other color related news Adobe Color is a great resource. It might even be their most underrated tool in their ecosystem.

Make a palette. Save a palette. Be a palette.

Fake adidas Sandal Ad

This is amazing. Very clever, minimal use of visuals to tell a story.

That’s all for this week.
